The elegance and iridescence
Within a beautifully woven tapestry
Can reflect the very nature
Of the human identity,
And within a world like no other
Filled with wonder as well as splendor,
It is both fundamental
As well as essential
To help one another
And care for each other,
And by pondering very deeply
About how to make the world a better place,
There would be no need for the fear
Of vanishing without a trace,
And through the willingness to see
With a newfound sense of clarity,
Someone would be able to live with authenticity
While offering hope for all of humanity

Alex Andy Phuong earned his Bachelor of Arts in English from California State University—Los Angeles in 2015. He was a former Statement Magazine editor who currently writes about literature, film, and culture. He also earned an Associate of Arts in English from Pasadena City College in 2013, and tutored there.
