In early June, Our Future Reads received a request from Sarah’s Inn, a domestic violence support agency in Chicago. A mother, after escaping a violent household and leaving behind many possessions in the process, sought one thing to comfort her 4-year-old son: some books. Our Future Reads immediately jumped at this opportunity to support a family in need. Within a week, we were able to supply the mother and son 15 books. With titles such as “Hot Cars, Cool Rides” and “Black Panther,” their donation was tailored specifically to this boy’s interests based his collection of superhero and construction toys, a selection guaranteed to be loved.
At Our Future Reads, we are incredibly grateful for being the go to organization to supply books with such a quick response, personalized book selection, and expression of compassion in this trying time.
