The Portrait of a Landscape

Human beings

Living life upon the land

And by the bounty of the sea,

All trying to cope with reality,

And some would toil the soil

With dirty hands,

And yet,

There is still no need

To feel so filthy,

But instead,

Try to marvel at the majesty

Of a life full of possibilities,

And celebrate the commonality

That reminds all people

The roles they play

While traveling through time

Day by day,

And experience wonder

At the beauty of the sublime,

And then ponder deeply

About the purpose of living,

And then notice how even though

A utopia is too ideal to be real,

But being able to recognize

The identity beneath a disguise

Can reveal the truth

Of life after youth,

And then view a portrait

Filled with human traits,

And then remember to spread love

And appreciate rather than hate,

And express gratitude

And a hopeful attitude

For the printing presses

That spread words of wisdom

Far and near,
And treasure the wonder of being here on Earth,

By doing the best to live a life full of worth

By simply being

A human being
